Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens

This garden is one of the oldest surviving gardens once owned by the feudal lords of Japan. Like the Hamarikyu garden, it represents the Keiyu or circuit style with a pond at its center. The garden was created on reclaimed land from in the second half of the 17th century. The current Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens were designated as a Place of Scenic Beauty in 1979 and is well known for the wisteria flowers blooming at the end of April.
