This exhibition, held as Chapter 1 of the art exhibition "TOKYO WAVES ART EXHIBITION," a collaboration between the prominent Japanese gallery "AKIO NAGASAWA Gallery," which handles the works of photographers active both domestically and internationally, and the hotel's concept "TOKYO WAVES," offers a special opportunity for guests to enjoy art pieces by top artists within the hotel premises.

 

The private salon "Club mesm" is a special space with a large terrace available exclusively to guests under the theme "JAPAN FLOW." Here, guests can enjoy three signature cocktails named after two Chinese characters, such as "珈琲" (Coffee), "抹茶" (Matcha), and "檸檬" (Lemon), providing experiences that can only be encountered here, offering a delightful experience unique to this location.

 

The inaugural exhibition, titled "TOKYO 1961 - William Klein," features photographs by William Klein, an iconic American photographer representing the 20th century. Displaying 10 precious works from his photo book "TOKYO" (1964), capturing Tokyo during his two-month stay on his first visit to Japan in 1961, Klein, who passed away at the age of 96 in 2022, left words describing the "TOKYO" of that time as "a very pleasant confusion, excitement, and heat, feeling like an unknown world." This exhibition allows visitors to enjoy the worldview of "TOKYO" in 1961 as captured by him. Additionally, this exhibition primarily features gelatin silver prints, all available for purchase with signatures.
