Afternoon Exhibition Chapter 16 - Boating – Shimmering Waters -
mesm Tokyo presents its 16th "Afternoon Exhibition", a signature afternoon tea program inspired by iconic masterpieces from April 1 to Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the 16th-floor Bar & Lounge "Whisk." This edition marks the first collaboration with The National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo, featuring Claude Monet’s masterpiece, “On the Boat.”
Under the theme of Afternoon Exhibition “Boating – Shimmering Waters”, mesm Tokyo has transformed the shimmering water, spring breeze, and ethereal light captured in Monet’s painting into an immersive "edible art experience." The program consists of two parts: a selection of eight sweets and savories tracing Monet's life from Paris to Normandy and London, followed by a main plate that three-dimensionally depicts the serene world of the painting. Guests can also enjoy a specially crafted pairing mocktail accented with Japanese motifs, reflecting Monet’s own fascination with Japonisme.
To further enrich the cultural journey, a limited-edition plan including a passport ticket to the museum’s permanent collection is available. We invite guests to indulge your senses at mesm Tokyo and continue the artistic resonance with a visit to the museum.
