A new photography exhibition by Daido Moriyama titled Daido Moriyama’s Tokyo is held at the private salon on the 25th floor, “Club mesm.” This exhibition marks the second collaboration with AKIO NAGASAWA Gallery, one of Japan's leading galleries that showcases works by renowned photographers from Japan and abroad, following the first chapter of the TOKYO WAVES ART EXHIBITION, which began in June 2024.

 

The private salon “Club mesm” is an exclusive area for hotel guests themed around “JAPAN FLOW.” In this special space with a spacious terrace, guests can enjoy an up-close view of outstanding works by world-class artists through the TOKYO WAVES ART EXHIBITION Chapter 2. The exhibition showcases and sells 11 rare photographs, including the iconic Stray Dog (1971). This piece epitomizes Moriyama’s approach to capturing urban street scenes and is a profound expression of his creative spirit.

 

Wandering through the city, Moriyama uniquely captures Tokyo from his distinctive perspective. His works, reflecting the allure and chaos of the maze-like city streets, continue to captivate audiences both in Japan and around the world.
